About Us The Valley Solid Waste Commission is responsible for planning and managing solid waste programs in Carleton and Victoria Counties.

Your Representatives Commission members are appointed to represent the public of Carleton and Victoria Counties.

Jurisdiction The Valley Region is located on the North Western side of the Province of New Brunswick along the beautiful Saint John River Valley.

• The Valley Solid Waste Commission was formed in 1995 under New Brunswick’s Clean Environment Act. We are responsible for the management of solid waste in the Valley region

Mission Statement:

• The Commission's task is to evaluate solid waste management in Carleton and Victoria Counties and to find ways for our residents to reduce waste shipped to landfills as well as improve and expand existing services.

The following services are presently in place:

1. Recycling for the Valley

2. Composting

3. Household Hazardous Waste Round-up Days

4. Southern Valley Transfer Station
located in the Woodstock Industrial Park

5. Contracts with two landfills for disposal services at the COGERNO
and the South West Solid Waste Commission facilities.
